Cool Thing From Japan - Totoro Jigsaw Puzzle

I picked up this really cute 150 piece Totoro jigsaw puzzle while I was in Japan. The best thing about it is that you could buy a little frame to display it in.

I got it from a toy shop called Yamashiroya, accross the road from the JR Ueno train station. All of the jigsaw puzzles are in the basement level, and you can buy a frame for any of the puzzles that they sell.

Where have the bunnies been?

It has been ages since we've updated the blog - sorry. Ky & I have been in Japan for most of February. Japan is heaven if you are seriously into textiles. The cotton prints there are amazing! We did a LOT of shopping in Fabric Town (Nippori, Tokyo). Between us, we brought back 103m of fabric!
Yesterday was the monster photoshoot so we can update the shop with the haul from Japan. It took us 9.5 hours and the processing / editing hasn't been done yet. Thank goodness Matt has awesome lighting equipment & magic pixies in his camera. There was no sunlight yesterday and his camera / lighting rig set up meant that we could still get the pics taken.

The trip wasn't all shopping for fabric though - I went to Hokkaido for the Sapporo Snow & Ice Festival, and to attempt skiing (which we shall not speak about). Near Sapporo is a place called Mt Moiwa with a cable car to the top. From there, you catch this to get to the summit:

 

Check out the logo on the side! It is actually a squirrel but it looks so much like a Voodoo Rabbit that I needed to share him with you.

PS: In Ky's last post she complained about how cold it was in Tokyo. At that time I was leaving Furano. It was -16 degrees celcius & snowing. I win!

Japan Shopping here we come

Cloud and I are now both in Japan and boy is it cold. We are both in different cities at the moment but rest assured that when we meet up next week we will be searching high and low for great new fabrics for our store.

Our Etsy store is in vacation mode for the duration of our trip and will be re opening on the 1st March with 3rd March being our first shipping date.

New Years Resolution, kind of

I know that it is February but I think I have finally decided upon a New Years resolution. I am going to finish the Michael Powell Secret Garden Cross Stitch that I purchase a few years back. It has been sitting in a sewing frame in the lounge room for the past year or so and during that time I have only completed approx 1/6 of the cross stitching.

My interest in Cross Stitch comes and goes, one year I will cross stitch like a maniac and then the next I have no interest in it at all. This year I have a renewed interest in cross stitch.
