Southbank Market Roundup

We had a great day at the Southbank Markets on Sunday. The last time we attended these markets it was 34°C, humid and stormy - nobody is interested in shopping in weather like that! This time the weather was lovely - not too cold but not too warm. There were some fabric fiends out and about and we got to meet some wonderful people :)

I think that our stall set up is getting better with each market we attend. Cloud's fabric canvasses brightened up the walls of the marquee quite well and her bunny toys were also a big draw (even if they did keep falling over). We had all of our fabric on display in fat quarters or the half size bolts (in the black shelves) around the stall.

The full sized bolts were stashed away under the tables in case people wanted extra lengths and to replace the stock that sold. We sold out of the Aunt Lindy's Paper Doll Large Panel and we also sold out of some of the fabric that we brought back from Japan. We always recommend that if you see a fabric you like grab it because it may not be there when you try to come back for it later!

Next is the Marky Markets at West End on August 15th, we will be featuring our handmade items at this event so we will be busy sewing up a storm for the next 2 weeks. There will be lots of Mini Squees, Giant Squee will make his debut, aprons, our original Voodoo Rabbit fabric designs, cushions, bunting, tote bags and handmade buttons. We will also be able to take orders on the day for cut fabric lengths. Hope to see you there!

  1. What a wonderful set up you have at Southbank. It looked great. I just checked out the Marky Markets link, there are so many handmade markets poping up all over Brisbane. Might have to start working over time so I can spend all my cash on things other than bills ;)
