Our creative space has centered around setting up our new market stall at the new Coorparoo Markets which opened for business yesterday.
We painted the walls and ceiling white and installed the flooring.
Assembled new shelves to hold all of our fabric.
You can find us at the Coorparoo Markets every Thursday - Sunday from 9am - 6pm.
Shop 103, Upper Level. Cnr Old Cleveland Rd and Cavendish Rd. Coorparoo Queensland.
A bit thanks to our partners and friends who helped out, we wouldn't have been able to do it without you.
More creative spaces here.

BIG NEWS! Voodoo Rabbit is growing ^_^
Those of you that follow us on Facebook or Twitter may have seem some mysterious posts recently about painted chalkboard walls, ceilings, etc. Now we can reveal what all that activity is for!
Voodoo Rabbit has found a permanent home in the new Cooparoo myRmarkets that is opening in the old Myer Megamart building. We have been searching for a place to call home for a while now. We tried a number of different markets in Brisbane but as our range has expanded it has become increasingly difficult to bump in / bump out at stalls. Also, the threat of rain damage to our stock is causing havoc now the storm season has hit.
The myRmarket will be a perfect location for us - it is undercover, secure and we don't have to set up and pull down the stall each weekend because we have a permanent spot. The extra shop space will also give us the opportunity to expand our range of fabric and haberdashery as we have outgrown Ky's little sewing room at home.
The building is fully airconditioned and will feature a fresh food market on the bottom floor as well as onsite parking, cafes and a food court. You can get your vegies and then come upstairs for a craft fix!
Where: Stall 103 / Upper Level, 296-300 Old Cleveland Road, Coorparoo
When: Every Thursday to Sunday 9am - 6pm
The opening date is November 4th - we would love to see you there!

Fabric Friday: A Little Bit Goth
At Voodoo Rabbit we like to think of ourselves as a "little bit goth" so when we were shopping for fabric in Japan we just had to get this beautiful print from Kokka. Gothic crosses and french style fleur de lys - a winning combination in our eyes!
It is a Cotton (45%) Linen (55%) blend and the heavy weight of the fabric would make it perfect for bag making or homewares. You could even use if for more structured garments like a skirt or a corset.
This fabric, designed by Etsuko Furuya for Kokka's Echino range is absolutely stunning. Her Cobweb design would have to be one of our all time favourites and it is the reason we decided to hunt down Kokka fabrics to include in our range.
All fabrics are available from here.
Click on the 'Kokka' button under 'Fabrics by Brand' to see the whole range of these delicious fabrics.

My Creative Space
My creative space (and my dining table) was completely taken over by Cloud. This last week she has been busy finalising the design of her Rabbit Plushie. He has been an ongoing project of hers for at least six months now. There were a number of attempts before she was happy with him.
This one was the first 'non-stumpy' version:
Sacrificial bunny (he just doesn't know it yet)
He got his legs chopped off & and became part of the bunny carnage below:
Bunny carnage
The bunny propped against the sewing machine also was pulled apart - Cloud wasn't happy with his legs / feet. After one final design alteration to his legs, Cloud cut out the final pattern and got him ready to sew. He looked a bit Hellraiser at this point:
Finished, photographed and ready to be listed.
He's now done! It is always funny whenever Cloud sews. Sometimes it can be a total disaster. Then the crazy creative impulses she buries away in her brain manifest themselves and we end up with our Voodoo Rabbit Plushie. He is going to be sold in our new store - Voodoo Rabbit Stitches - which will be just for our handmade items.

New shop is open!
We have been very busy bunnies, setting up a new webpage so you can now buy our fabrics and buttons in Australian Dollars!
The new shop can be found at www.voodoorabbit.com.au or by clicking the new link button on the right!
A load of new fabrics are available in our Australian store that won't be listed on Etsy. Some are quite limited stocks and most are all the way from Japan.
We will still be on Etsy - we love it too much to leave. We are planning to focus the Etsy store towards our handmade items and will be making a small range of goodies featuring our fabrics.
Let us know what you think of our new direction!
