Pre-order Disclaimer:
These items are currently out of stock and are being offered for sale as a pre-order. Any additional items ordered with these items will not be shipped until everything is in stock (ie they will not be shipped separately).
Although I have been assured that the colours and quantities that I have ordered will be shipped to me I am at the mercy of the factory. If my stock arrives and I do not have the item you have pre-ordered I will offer you an alternative or refund your pre-order payment.

I am slowly working through the backlog of fabric I have to add to the website and this is the last of it, at least it would have been if another fabric shipment hadn't arrived during the week ;D
But I did add so many new fabrics this week that I have divided the collages up so you can actually see what the fabric looks like. First up we have some Alexander Henry Fabric with a bit of Tula Pink Slow and Steady and a piece of Cotton and Steel thrown in for good measures.

New in Store - 18th September 2016

In addition to all the regular shop work I have been super busy making new bag samples for the 2016 Brisbane Craft and Quilt FairThis week I made the Rockstar Bag designed by Sew Sweetness. I have
used True Love Tattoo Black By Andover Fabric as the exterior fabric, Ed Hardy Love Is True Roses Light Grey By Quilting Treasures for the lining and the red accent fabric is my go to Premium Solid Tomato (24) By Northcott. I have added the rockstar edge with rivets (coming to the website next week !!) and metal spikes (new in store this week).

This bag is interfaced with Medium Weight Woven Fusible Interfacing on the lining and In-R-Form foam stabilser on the exterior. At times you will be sewing through 1/2" of foam stabiliser on this bag so you will need a sewing machine that can handle these kind of thicknesses. I found that my little Brother Innovis-950 couldn't handle the bulk (broke 5 needles learning this :/) but my Janome Memory Craft 4900 handled it fine. When sewing bags with a lot of stabilisers in them I find that a some form of double sided adhesive tape is brilliant for holding straps and zippers in place before sewing. It is also invaluable when inserting the piping and the bias tape on the lining seam, in fact I think that I used most a roll on this bag ;)
Overall this bag can be a little challenging purely due to the bulk of the foam stabiliser but the level of difficulty will come down to your sewing machine.
I think you will all agree that the finished product is pretty awesome and worth a little effort :)

I still found time to list some new products over on the website, check them all out below :) I believe that Hot Wheels has been discontinued by Alexander Henry so this may be the last time that I will be able to stock it.

New in Store - 14th August 2016

I have had so many new fabrics come in over the last week or two that is is going to take me a few weeks to get them all up on the website. This week I have added a couple of Cotton & Steel fabrics from the Playful and Tokyo Train Ride Collections.
Frida's garden in the home decorator weight are back in the ever popular black and tea colour, be quick if you want either of these as they generally don't last long.
For those of the rockabilly persuasion there are flamingos, zombie pinup girls, day of the dead and tattoo sewing notions.
Vintage Vogue and Butterick ladies dress patterns have also been restocked with an addition of a new Circa 1954 close-fitting dress with low scoop neckline bodice extending into cap sleeves, upper bodice front gathers, darted at waist, flared skirt.

New in Store - 24th July 2016

This week I have listed the last couple of Riley Blake Fabrics I got in a few weeks ago, there are cute bunnies from the Pixie Noel range and pineapples from the Fresh Market range. I have also added in a few more old favourites from Alexander Henry Fabrics including the very popular Golden Garden and After Dark designs.
In an attempt to stock more vintage style and men's patterns I've resorted to getting in a select range from Butterick and Kwik Sew. There is a Men's bowling shirt and easy shorts/pants pattern and a few new vintage style dresses for the ladies.

New in Store - 19th June 2016

I've added a number of bits and pieces to the web store this week. I have Jelly Clips from Lecien Fabrics in stock.  I was so excited by the range of colours that I had to make one up in each size, don't they look sweet? I found this blog post which has some very good tips for attaching the frames.

There are 8 colours and each colour is available in 10cm, 14cm and 18cm and the purse pattern is included with each frame. Mesh fabric is now back in stock with two new colours. Great for making pockets inside bags and organisers.

I know that picking interfacing can be tricky when it comes to bag making. To that end I have made up stabiliser kits for a number of our more popular bag patterns. I am slowly adding them to the website. I have just added two kits for the Necessary Clutch Wallet. The light kit is recommended for beginners while the medium is a bit stiffer and thicker.

So many new fabrics have been added to the website this week. There are some very awesome dragons, foxes and cats in from Timeless Treasures, a cute little nautical range from Dear Stella and some tikis and skulls from Alexander Henry Fabrics. I've also been playing with the menu system on the website so there are more options available in the top menu to help you find items more easily.
