Customer Project: Invader shirt

Daniel sent us these images of his awesome new Invader shirt, click on the images to go to Daniel's flickr page.

The black accents on the placket, shoulder loops and sleeves add a nice level of interest to the shirt design don't you think. I also love the little section of musical tape under the front placket. The very neat pattern matching of the pockets and shirt front is also to be applauded.

This shirt was made using our Gingham Invaded White on Black print. Available via our online store.

This cute little bunny was a custom order for a little baby boy.

He is based on Funky Friends Factory Baby Bunny pattern but he has extra long ears.

The fabric is our very own Bunny Goth Scatter in blue.

Thank you to everyone who left feedback it has been very helpful, the clear favourite was the grey range followed by the pink. Blue and green were neck and neck for third.

We will get the grey range printed up ASAP, probably once we have the new shop up and running. Lots of work to do in the next few days to be ready for next Thursdays opening, I need to go to bed and get some beauty sleep.

Spoonflower Fabric of the Week: Vampires

A new fabric design for this weeks fabric of the week comp at Spoonflower. This is the first in what we hope will be a series of toys based on Squee Bunny. The title of the series is Dress up With Squee and this is Count Squeecular. Each toy is printed on a fat quarter and all you have to do is cut, sew and stuff.

We are please as punch over how he turned out and are eagaly awaiting our test fabric to arrive.

My Creative Space

There is a lot of creating and sewing going on at Bunny Craft Central. Cloud has been busying herself handsewing Mini Squee Bunnies for Marky Markets. Meanwhile, I've been working on a new tote bag using Voodoo Rabbit Pink Pinstriped Skulls fabric. I had it printed at Spoonflower on their cotton linen canvas especially for this project.

The bag is made. Now I just need to bling it up. I'm thinking about making a black fabric rosette with either a huge silver button or a Pink Pinstripe Skull fabric covered button in the middle. What do you think?

Bunny Goth Apron

Last month Ky designed the Bunny Goth Apron and entered it into the Spoonflower Fabric of the Week competition for an apron design (with instructions) that could be printed in a yard. Her design came in 10th!

We ordered the pattern in so that it could be checked before we make it available for sale. Ky was going to make it up, but I thought I should do it instead. I can sew but I have mixed results when I make anything other than patchwork or plushies. I figured that if I could follow the instructions and it came out looking like an apron then we were onto a winner.

Here it is!

There were challenges in making this for me. I had never made pockets before. I had never sewn a ruffle either. I am super proud of myself! Admittedly I kept Ky close by to supervise but I can say that I made it & that it is AWESOME!

We are going to order some in and then sell them as a kit (for those that prefer to be their own hero and DIY). There will also be some pre-made for those that don't like sewing or don't have time to.

This week I received my latest batch of sample prints from Spoonflower, which is always exciting and a little scary. As with all print processes, the colours that you see on your computer are not always the same as what the printer will print.

These swatches are of a new range called Bunny Goth, it is still in production. The colour and design changes have been made and the next batch of swatches should be the final ones, hopefully.

We've named this print Rose Symphony and it is now available on the Spoonflower marketplace. I've been working on this design on and off for at least 6 months and I am extremely happy with how it eventually turned out.

New Spoonflower fabric swatches to show off this week, I haven't come up with a final name for the range yet so I would love any suggestions. Some or all of these designs will be available for purchase from the Spoonflower marketplace in the next day or so.

This bunny design is based on a quick doodle that Cloud made when she was designing her felt bunny badges. He was so cute that I though he would be perfect to turn into a fabric design.

We made up this design especially so we could make self covered buttons.

My Creative Space

This week I have been working hard on finishing off a design for an upcoming Spoonflower Fabric of the Week submission.

It is a pattern for a sewn apron that fits onto a single yard of fabric and must include instructions. I have the apron design complete, now I just have to finish off the instructions.

My Creative Space

I haven't had time to work on anything new this week so I thought that I would show off something that I have managed to finish, my Pink Skull Pinstripe shirt.

I managed to finish it in time for the Kustom Kraft Market and I also wore it to the Craft Fair on Tuesday. It is a much better fit than the first shirt of this style that I made. I shortened it by approximately 6cm (yes I am that short) and made a slight adjustment to to the side bodice so that the armhole no longer gaped. One other improvement to this shirt is that the number of eyelets dropped from 44 to 36 and I bought a pair of eyelet pliers to insert them, making the process much faster and neater.

My Creative Space...

Creativity has been a bit light on this week as my sewing room is a mess in the aftermath of the Kustom Kraft market last weekend, full of boxes of fabric and buttons waiting to be unpacked.

My latest Spoonflower fabric swatches arrived yesterday. Please forgive the foldline through the middle of the samples, my ironing board was under 5 layers of stuff when I was taking the photos.

This set is from my Cherry Tattoo Collection and the print is very imaginatively called Flaming Cherry Tattoo Large. It is available in 4 colourways.

This one is from a new collection I am starting called 8-bit love, it is called Heart of Darts and was designed in collaboration with my partner Polymonkey. He has a program on his iPhone called 32x32 and creates 8-bit doodles on it obsessively. I decided I should take them and incorporate them into fabric designs.

My Creative Space

Preparations for the Kustom Kraft market on Sunday are in full swing and we have been very busy little rabbits. Cloud has been making use of some of my Spoonflower swatches to create these awesome buttons.

We got a rubber stamp made up so that we can stamp our paper bags with our details. Unfortunately we had to remove the rabbit from the logo as he probably wouldn't have shown up very well in just one colour. Still looks pretty awesome though!

I've been playing around with making some rabbit shaped price tags. I have a large computer controlled cutting machine that I have been playing with to create these.

And because you can never have too many projects on the go at once, here is a work in progress shot of the top I am making to wear on Sunday to the market. It features my Skull pinstripe fabric printed at Spoonflower. It still requires the arm holes and sides to be bound and then about a gazillion eyelets will be inserted along each side seam so that the sides can be laced up. Last but not least some buttons need to be sewn down the front.

My Creative Space

Here's a peek at my Creative Space (I've been following this blogger meme for a while now over at kootooyo and thought it was about time that I joined in).

Now that I am a full time Voodoo Rabbit, I've been concentrating on making more handmade items to sell in our Etsy store and at the upcoming Kustom Kraft markets.

I have been busy cutting out panels and sewing zippers to make new cushion cover designs. The first batch are made with my Gingham Invaded fabric collection that I have had digitally printed at Spoonflower. You can see some swatches of some other fabrics I am working on in the background.

While I am upstairs doing this, I am also baking up a batch of beads that Cloud & I made at a polymer clay workshop we attended last Wednesday night. Here they are fresh out of the oven:
